<p>The Negro family has grown wine on the Roero hills since 1670. Giovanni Dominico Negro was at the time owner, in the same area as today, of the Perdaudin farm including a house with oven, a barn, a wine cellar and a few rows of vines. Much later, in the early 1900s, Angelo Negro was born in the Audino farm and became the owner of two acres of land for an annual production of just 15 carboys of wine. Giovanni's son decides to follow in his father's footsteps and succeeds in realizing the dream of building a vineyard in the mountains where he was born. The decision to focus on proper vineyards and a vinification based on traditional methods, as well as constant attention to quality soon bears fruit: From the 1980s, the wines of Angelo Negro began to gain attention, first in Italy and then at international level. Over time, the company grows to today's nearly 70 hectares of vineyards, distributed between the historic Perdaudin farm in Monteu Roero, the San Vittore in Canale farm and the Basarini farm in Neive. Baudana in Serralunga was recently acquired. The excellent exposure and the varied terrain as well as the microclimate and the meticulous work give rise to wines that are very characteristic and are appreciated and known all over the world.</p>

Sommelier's advice

<p>Ruby red color with terracotta hues. Floral nose of roses, violets, small forest berries, spicy pepper, and citrus. An elegant and tight palate with pleasant and present tannins. Silky and long aftertaste remindingt of raspberry and blackcurrant jam. To pair with a roast with forest mushrooms.</p>

Angelo Negro Basarin is a Barbaresco Riserva produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Basarin zone of the municipality of Neive, 350 m above sea level. The harvest is done manually in baskets of 20 kg each. Classic wine making for at least 18-20 days. A total of 50 months storage on Slavonic oak barrels.
