Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most prestigious wine from Tuscany. It is made of 100% sangiovese grapes (Brunello). Campogiovanni’s Brunello grow between 250 to 300 meters above sea level on vines that are between 5-45 years old. The finished wine is aged 36 months in Slovenian oak casks, followed by another year of aging in the bottle before the wine is commercialized. This despite the fact that the law of Brunello production doesn’t require more than two years storage in oak barrels and then 4 months of bottle aging.
