Presentation vineyard

Château Bas has a long history and begins as a Roman temple, built 100 BC and represents one of the 100 oldest monuments in Provence. In 1054, a chapel called St Cézaire was built next to the temple. The castle itself was built on the ruins of a Gallo-Roman city and was restored in the 17th century. From the 5th century until today, the agricultural activity with viticulture, olive planning has been the main occupation. But it was not until 1970 that 50 acres of vines were planted by the owners, the Blanquet family. Today, 75 hectares of vines are grown organically. Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and even Counoise (one of the 13 grape varieties in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation) are grown here.

Sommelier's advice

The color is clear and light yellow. The fragrance is fresh and complex, mainly reminiscent of wine peach, pear, white flowers and exotic fruits. The palate is well-balanced, fresh but with a certain roundness, a lot of elegance and a nice length in the final.

Château Bas– Pierres du Sud is a fresh, organically grown white wine from Provence. The wine is made from Rolle (Vermentino), Sauvignon and Grenache blanc. The grapes are completely picked from the bunches after harvest and pressed immediately. The juice is then fermented at a low controlled temperature. The malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve a certain crisp.
