“f” from Château Fonsalade stands for Frédéric and is made from 50% Grenache, 50% and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow in a very special and diverse soil consisting of calcareous limestone and schist, covered with round stones. The grapes are macerated for 3 weeks in termo-controlled concrete tanks and are then let to ferment for 2 weeks at 17-20 °C temperature. This is followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then stored in concrete tanks for 12 months before being bottled.
