Chateau Fourcas Hosten is made of 53% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. 75% of the grapes are picked by hand and the vinification that follows then takes place in the classic way with controlled temperature. The fermentation takes 21-28 days with and the wine is regularily turned (remontage). The wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months – 1/3rd of the barrels are new, 1/3rd has been used once and 1/3rd has been used twice. 197,000 bottles are produced annually.
