Château Fourcas Hosten is made from 55% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 1% of Cabernet Franc. 75% of the grapes are harvested by hand and the vinification takes place in a classic way with controlled temperature. The fermentation takes 21-28 days with re-mixing (remontation). The wine is stored on oak barrels for 12 months, 1/3 of the barrel is new, 1/3 has been used once and 1/3 has been used twice. 197,000 bottles are produced annually.
