Presentation vineyard

Cortaccia, or Kurtatsch, which is the name in German, is a wine cooperative of 190 members in the South Tyrol. The aim is to produce wines that faithfully reflect the different terroir conditions in the vineyards. The prerequisite for this is a careful and precise division of the individual wine areas. Knowledge and experience from centuries of wine-growing, combined with modern technology, is as important as the commitment and passion of the winemaker's side in the wine cellar. This is true, whether it'd be an intense Merlot from the hot Brenntal plain or a young and crispy Müller Thurgau from the Corona hills.

Sommelier's advice

A dark ruby red color. The nose is fruity with hints of red berries. A rich and full-bodied taste. A red wine to pair with grilled meat, game or to semi-stored cheeses.

Blauburgunder from Cortaccia is made from 100% Pinot noir grapes that grow in sandy clay soil in the town of Gleno. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented, at temperature controlled fermentation, in open steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows and then the storage is done on large oak barrels.
