Presentation vineyard

Domaine Meyer-Fonné is located in a village named Katzenthal just outside the city of Colmar. This part of Alsace is fantastically beautiful, and not only that, in Katzenthal everything is more or less about wine! The Meyer family has Swiss origins and grow wine in Katzenthal since 3 generations. Fonné have been added to the name of the vineyard after a daughter married to Fonné. Today it's Felix, the 3rd generation Meyer who has taken over the production since 1992. During recent years he has, in agreement with his father, developed and modernized the winery. The result of the efforts will not be mistaken after the tasting of the wines !

Sommelier's advice

Clear yellow color with gold shades. Very aromatic with hints of roses, spices and exotic fruits. The taste is full-bodied, fruity ripened fruits with hints of honey. Limited and very pleasant sweetness which makes the wine light and easy-to-drink compared to other sweet wines. Perfect for an aperitif, to various exotic dishes or stronger cheeses from the cheese board.

Gewurtztraminer Réserve is made of 100 % Gewurtztraminer grapes. The agriculture is organic and the grapes are picked manually. A very good wine with good fruitiness and limited but sophisticated sweetness. The sweetness in Gewurtztraminer can sometimes make heavy wines, but this wine is fruity and moderately sweet.
