Presentation vineyard

Chateau Aydie is located in the municipality with the same name, Aydie, situated between Gers and Pyrenees-Atlantiques in the Aquitaine region. The vineyard is family owned and it all started in 1927 when Frédéric Laplace, already winegrowers, started to group together the vineyards. In 1951, Frédéric's son, Pierre, took over the responsibility for the family estate and today it's the third generation of Laplace running the family business. The wine was tapped on bottles as from 1963 and this was the start of the future success of the vineyard. The castle of Aydie was aquired in 1981 and today, the Château Aydie winery with its 58 hectares of land, is one of the references for Madiran wines of high quality.

Sommelier's advice

A garnet red color with purple hues. The nose has charming aromas of red berries and white-fleshed fruits. A real all-round wine that should be drunk slightly chilled (16°), with simple dishes, a plate of cold cuts, some cheeses and also with chocolate desserts.

Famille Laplace – Château d’Aydie – Red wine is made from 100% Tannat grapes After harvest, the grapes are cool macerated with extraction in order to preserve the softness and fruitiness of the wine. Vinification is done at medium to low temperatures (around 20°). The wine is then aged in steel tanks for around 6 months.
