“”Refoscone” is the original name for the Refosco grapes which is originating from the Friuli region. The Refosco grape has existed since the Roman times and it’s maybe the red Italian grape variety that has competed the best with the progress of French red grape varieties during the 1800s. “Refoscone” from Forchir is manufactured by a proper method; when the grapes are ripe and are cut, they are left to dry for one week in the autumn sun. After the fermentation process, the wine is transferred into oak barrels for storage for 12 months. The wine is then bottled and stored for another 12 months before going for sale. The finnished wine is not clarified, nor filtered in order to preserve the natural flavors in the wine.
