Cerasuolo di Vittoria from Gulfi is a light and stylish red wine produced from Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes. The grapes grow in Chiaramonte Gulfi, located due west of Syracuse, on the south-eastern Sicily. The winters are mild and the summers dry, which is advantageous for the ripening of the grapes. The harvest takes place in late September and the grapes are let to macerate with their skin. After the alcoholic fermentation begins the malolactic fermentation. The wine is commercialized about a year after the harvest.
