J. Denuzière was founded in Condrieu, already in 1876, but was acquired by the Picard family in 2003. The winery includes 10 hectares of land and has also a negoce-activity in the prestigious appellations of the northern part of the Rhône Valley (Rhône Septentional) such as Cornas, Condrieu, Crozes-Hermitage, Cote-Rotie and Condrieu. The speciality of the winery has therefore become the Syrah and Viognier grapes.

Sommelier's advice

A dark, almost black color with ruby red hues. The nose is fruity and spicy, mainly with hints of black currant, blackberries, plum and some spicy pepper. The palate is rich, fruity, round and generous, but it also has great freshness with some minerality that balances it all. Flavors of ripe, slightly picky black berries and, for the Syrah grape, very typical spicy tones. An elegant red wine to pair with tasty meat dishes, preferably based on lamb.

J. Denuzière – Crozes Hermitage – Red wine is made from 100% Syrah, harvested by hand and sorted from their clusters. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and in so-called “tronconic” oakbarrels (cuves tronconiques) for 3 to 5 weeks. The malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and on oak barrels for 6-8 months.
