La Braccesca – Vino nobile di Montepulciano is a red wine made from Sangiovese grapes (or rather Prugnolo Gentile as the variant is called in Montepulciano) and by Merlot. The grapes are fermented with the aim of preserving aromas hints of fresh fruit. After about ten days of maceration, the wine is put on large oak barrels where the malolactic fermentation is carried out. The finalized wine is then stored for about twelve months on oak barrels. After bottling in the spring, the wine may be stored for another 12 months before it is released for sale.
