Peloro Rosso from Le Casematte is a red wine made from 70% Nerello mascalese and 30% Nocera grapes grown in sand and calcareous clay soil in Faro Superiore, north of Messina, on the north-eastern Sicily. The grapes are harvested the second half of September and the vinification is done according to the classical method in steel tanks. The wine is then transferred into oak barrels and is stored for 2 months. The finalized wine is bottled and then stored an additional 4-5 months.
