"Rappatu" means Frappato in local Sicilian dialect. Frappato is the name of the local grape variety cultivated around the town of Vittoria since the late 1600s. Rappatu is made from 100% Frappato grapes and undergoes a long maceration (7-10 days) with the skins. The fermentation is conducted at controlled temperature. The wine is then stored on steel tanks for 3 months before beinf bottled and then stored another month.
