L’Alfiera is a structured and elegant red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. The wine is named after the vineyard’s historic 4.5 hectare vineyard. The grape clusters are thinned during the first half of August when the grapes take on color (vinvaiatura). The harvest is done manually in boxes in the first part of September. The grapes are thinned on the sorting table followed by light stalking. The wine is fermented with its skins in steel tanks at a temperature of 28 ° -30 ° for 15-20 days with delestage and pumping of the must (rimontaggio). Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels with stirring (bâtonnage).
