Gianni Masciarelli inherited his interest in wine and winemaking from his grandfather Giovanni and it was actually in the grandfather’s basement that Gianni began producing his own wines. Masciarelli began producing wine in 1981. The farm is located in San Martino which is a small village situated 420 meters above the sea in the province of Chieti, only 20 kilometers from the Adriatic coast. The vineyard originally comprised 2.5 hectars of land. Today Masciarelli manufactures 2 million bottles of wine from grapes grown on 320 hectars of land. The estate is extened over 14 municipalities in the 4 Abruzzo provinces; Chieti, Pescara, L'Aquila and Teramo.
