Masciarelli, “Villa Gemma” – Red wine is the winery’s flagship wine produced from 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes. The grapes are harvested in late October and are then allowed to macerate for 20-30 days before starting the fermentation process for another 15-20 days. The finished wine is transferred to new oak barrels and matures for 1 1/2 to 2 years and then 1 more year in the bottle before it is ready for sale.
