Burdese from the wine house Planeta is a red wine made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc grapes grown in Menfi and Sambuca in the southwest part of Sicily. The grapes are harvested and picked from their bunches. The fermentation takes place during 15-18 days. The wine is sucked out and separated from the harsh residues (la svinatura) and is transferred to oak barrels from Allier in France and is stored for 14 months. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak barrels.
