“Taglio del Tralcio” from Re Manfredi is a soft, full-bodied red wine made from 100% Aglianico grapes. The wine is produced using the “appassimento method” which is perhaps best known as the method used for producing Amarone wines. This wine is a perfect choice for accompanying red meat, a lasagna or strong cheeses.

Taglio del Tralcio is made of 100% Aglianico grapes. This is a softer and more modern version thanks to the special “appassimentomethod” where the branches of the ripe grapes are cut off. The nutrient flow between the roots and the twigs is snapped off and the still green twigs search instead for liquid in the grapes. This process lasts between 7-10 days and as a result, the concentration of the flavors in the grapes increase and that the tannins soften. The handpicked grapes are then cool macerated for 10 days before the fermentation begins. The finished wine is aged six months in oak barrels and then another 6 months in the bottle.
