"Ballerine" is made from 50% Sangiovese-, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot grapes. Suits well with a "Pasta al Ragu" - or spaghetti with meat sauce!

Presentation vineyard

Vincenzo di Vaira came with his family to Tuscany in the early 50's from the east coast of Italy, more precisely from the province of Campobasso. He started his own farm in Bolgheri which today englobes more than 50 hectares of land. Di Vaira is a family business managed by Vincenzo and his wife Emanuela as well as their two children, Sara and Romina. The estate is situated at the foot of the Rocca di Castiglioncello di Bolgheri, in the midst of the infamous wine region with Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan coast) which offers both wine, culture, sun and sea . A mix of local and imported grape varieties grown here; Sangiovese, Cabernet, Canaiolo, Merlot, Trebbiano, Vermentino and Malvasia.

Sommelier's advice

Intense ruby red color. Powerful aromas of ripe red fruit. The taste is somewhat crispy, supported by good acidity. Full-bodied fruity flavor, present but light tannins ending in a fruity final. A wine which goes well with a spaghetti with meat sauce, other assorted pasta dishes or a pizza.

Tenuta di Vaira – “Ballerine” – Rosso di Toscana – Red wine is produced by 50% Sangiovese grapes, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested in “baskets” containing 18kg of grapes which simplifies the sorting. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and the final wine is stored for another 6 months in steel tanks.
