Issàra Taurasi from Terre del Principato is produced by Aglianico grapes. The aglianico varietal has a very long history and came to Italy via the ancient Greeks. Today it's a classic varietal in the Irpinia wine district. The grapes grow at 200-300 meters above sea, around tha Taurasi hills and at Alta Valle del Calore in the municipality of Montemarano located in the Irpinia district. The vinification is traditional with long maceration. The final wine is aged two years in oak barrels before being bottled.
