Falanghina is a fresh white wine from Vinosia. The Falanghina grape variety has been used since the ancient Greeks, but has for long been forgotten. Only in recent years, this ancient grape variety has again become popular. A wine with a distinctive character, good acidity and a taste with hints of apple and pear.

Presentation vineyard

The vineyard "Vinosia" is a relatively young project which started by the two brothers Mario and Luciano Ercolino. However, the two brothers Ercolino are not novice in what concerns wine making, since they are from the same family that started the well-known vineyard Feudi di San Gregorio in the Campania wine region. Mario was actually at that time responsible for the winemaking. In 2003, they starded the project "Vinosia" which means "A new source for wine." The vineyard is located in Luogosano, in the middle of Italy, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic coast at the same level as Napoli. Mario is responsible for the winemaking with the same commitment as within Feudi and produces southern Italian quality wines with a lot of personality.

Sommelier's advice

Light yellow color with silvery hues. A fresh nose of exotic fruit, citrus fruits and white flowers. Crispy palate, but with perfect harmony. Elements of apple and pear and some minerality. A wine that is suitable for aperitifs, seafood or various fish dishes.

Vinosia Falanghina is made from 100% handpicked Falanghina grapes grown in the surroundings of the town of Benevento in the Campania wine district in southern Italy. The Falanghina grapes come originally from northern Italy, but the grape has probably its origins from ancient Greece. The grapes are lightly crushed after the harvest which takes place in September and are then completely pressed. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks.
