Presentation vineyard

Château de Respide is one of the oldest winery castles in the Graves region. The castle is built in Louis XIII style and was Monsieur de La Reynie's (Lieutenant to Louis XIV) property. The Rodies family was then the owners until 1932 and won a gold medal at the Concours agricole de Paris in 1899. But it's not until 1952 that the present owner Monsieur Bonnet came to inherit the castle. The castle building itself was sold in 1973, but the vineyard, wine cellars and agricultural facilities remained in the property to preserve the origin and genuineness of the wine.

Sommelier's advice

A lively and brilliant red color. The nose has hints of red fruit with some balsamic notes. Concentrated, "fat" and well-structured, with some for Graves wines typical spicy touches. To pair with various game dishes, red meat or stored cheeses.

Château de Respide Réserve is produced from 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in limestone covering more than 30 hectares of vineyards. The grapes are harvested mechanically and sorted before entering the cellar. Traditional vinification followed by storage on oak barrels for 6 months (of which 1/3 part new barrels).
