Domaine Durieu – Lucile Avril – Châteauneuf-du-Pape – Red wine is made from grapes coming from specially selected vines, some planted already in 1914 – the year when Lucile was born. This has given the wine its name. “Lucile Avril” is produced from 80 % Grenache grapes coming from 90 years old vines, 10 % of Mourvèdre from vines which are 60 year old and the remaining 5 % is Syrah grapes. The grapes come from different soil areas on the family estate and if it turns out one year that any chosen part doesn’t hold a perfect level of quality,it’s immediately removed from the final winemixture.
